Refund policy

Caledonian Compliance Limited
Last updated: 19 October 2026

1. Introduction

At Caledonian Compliance Limited, we are committed to providing reliable, professional and high-quality PAT testing and electrical compliance services.

We understand that circumstances can change, and we aim to handle cancellations, rescheduling requests and refunds fairly and transparently.

This Refund and Returns Policy explains the conditions that apply to services booked through our website, https://calcomply.co.uk/, or arranged directly with our team.

2. Our Services

Caledonian Compliance Limited provides services including:

  • Portable Appliance Testing (PAT Testing)
  • Electrical safety inspections and testing
  • Asset registration and compliance reporting
  • Digital certificates and test reports
  • Electrical safety advice and remedial recommendations
  • Re-testing and ongoing compliance support

As our business primarily provides professional services rather than physical products, standard product returns generally do not apply.

3. Booking Cancellations

We understand that customers may occasionally need to cancel a scheduled appointment.

For business-to-business bookings, our standard cancellation terms are:

  • More than 48 hours before your appointment: You may cancel and receive a full refund, provided the service has not commenced and no separately agreed, non-refundable work has been carried out.
  • Less than 48 hours before your appointment: Please contact us as soon as possible. We may deduct reasonable costs already incurred in preparing for or attending the appointment. Any applicable charges will be explained.
  • After the service has started: Refunds will be assessed based on the work already completed and the circumstances of the cancellation.

These terms are subject to any specific conditions agreed in writing when booking.

Where statutory consumer cancellation rights apply, those rights take priority over our standard business cancellation terms.

4. Rescheduling Appointments

If you need to change your appointment date or time, please contact us at least 48 hours before your scheduled visit.

We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your preferred alternative date, subject to engineer availability.

Rescheduling requested with less than 48 hours’ notice may result in reasonable additional charges where costs have already been incurred.

If we need to reschedule an appointment, we will contact you to arrange a suitable alternative date at no additional charge.

5. Missed Appointments and Site Access

To complete our testing services, customers must ensure that our engineers have suitable access to the premises and electrical appliances at the agreed appointment time.

If our engineer attends but cannot carry out the work because:

  • The premises are closed or inaccessible.
  • No authorised person is available to provide access.
  • The appliances are unavailable for testing.
  • Safe working conditions cannot be provided.

We may charge reasonable costs associated with the unsuccessful visit.

Where possible, we will offer an alternative appointment.

Any charges will reflect the circumstances and reasonable costs incurred.

6. Refunds for Completed Services

Once PAT testing, inspections or other agreed compliance services have been fully completed, refunds are not normally available solely because a customer changes their mind.

This includes services where testing has been completed and associated digital certificates or compliance reports have been issued.

However, if you believe that a service was not carried out correctly, please contact us so that we can investigate.

Where appropriate, we may offer:

  • A repeat inspection or test at no additional charge.
  • Correction of an inaccurate report or certificate.
  • A partial refund.
  • A full refund where justified.

Nothing in this policy limits any rights or remedies available under applicable law.

7. Refunds Where We Cannot Provide the Service

If Caledonian Compliance Limited is unable to fulfil a confirmed booking, we will offer you the choice of:

  • Rescheduling your appointment at no additional cost.
  • Receiving a full refund for the service that we have not provided.

If we are unable to complete only part of an agreed service, we will discuss an appropriate adjustment or refund for the outstanding work.

8. Consumer Cancellation Rights

Where a customer enters into a contract with us as a consumer rather than for business purposes, additional legal protections may apply.

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, eligible consumers who book services online or at a distance generally have the right to cancel within 14 days after the day the contract is entered into, without giving a reason.

If you expressly request that we begin providing services during this 14-day period:

  • You may still cancel while the service is being performed, but you may be required to pay a proportionate amount for work already completed, where legally permitted.
  • If the service has been fully performed following your express request, and you acknowledged that your cancellation right would be lost upon full performance, the statutory right to cancel may end.
  • Where the relevant legal requirements for early commencement have not been met, you will retain the rights provided by law.

These statutory cancellation rights do not generally apply to contracts between businesses.

9. Refund Processing

When a refund is due:

  • We will confirm the refund details with you.
  • Refunds will normally be issued using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed.
  • Refunds due under statutory consumer cancellation rights will be processed without undue delay and within the legally required period, generally within 14 days of receiving your cancellation notice.
  • Other approved refunds will normally be processed within 14 calendar days.

The time taken for the refunded amount to appear in your account may depend on your bank or payment provider.

No administrative refund fee will be charged where this would conflict with your statutory rights.

10. Digital Certificates and Reports

PAT testing certificates, asset registers and compliance reports are normally provided electronically.

As these documents form part of our professional services, they cannot be physically returned.

If you notice an error in a certificate or report, please contact us with the relevant details.

We will investigate and correct any errors for which we are responsible without additional charge.
